Oilfield Water Infrastructure

Over the past few years oilfield water assets have become increasingly a part of the energy landscape.  This is especially true in the drought prone areas of the Permian Basin, Eagle Ford, Oklahoma and Wyoming Basins.  This gallery features oilfield water assets centered around frac water, produced water and water recycling.  The images you find here are available as fine art oil & gas photography as well as stock photography for web and advertising.  Due to the size and scope of oilfield water systems many of these images are taken from the air.

Holding On To Summer

Holding On To Summer features an SWD photographed against a beautiful turbulent sunset in the central Delaware Basin of Western Texas. My favorite time of year to photograph the Delaware is during the rainy season from June through October. With the right light an ordinary oilfield asset such as this one can be turned into a work of art. This image is actually a composite of 63 high resolution images into one panorama that is up to 16 times the resolution of traditional professional photography. The bump in resolution and detail allows the image to be used as a fine art wall mural as large as 20x40 feet.  The image can also be reproduced as a fine art print with a sense of depth and detail that few people will ever see. Fine art prints on canvas or smooth water color paper are available from 12x24" to 40x80".  Going into 2018 I will be photographing  water infrastructure and Midstream oil & gas assets throughout the Delaware Basin. Commissioned projects are available.

Space To Reflect

Space To Reflect is a very high resolution composite panoramic image taken in the 3:1 format. The image was made in the far Western Delaware Basin in April 2015. The image was made from a mountain top straddling the Texas and New Mexico border.  A COG frac tank is featured in the foreground with Cactus rig 148 drilling rig. The assets are flanked by Guadalupe Pass.  Five years of rainfall in only ten months has made for an unusually colorful Spring in one of Texas driest places.  The recent decrease in activity has allowed the dust to settle if only for a little while. Delaware Frac Panorama In Sepia

The far Western Delaware Basin is the setting for Delaware Frac Panorama. The image is a 2:1 ratio high resolution composite of 63 photographs in 7 levels of light. The image was originally engineered to be a 16x30 foot fine art mural. At this resolution the finest of details are evident in large format prints.  The combination of resolution and sepia toned black & white make the photograph appear to be a very detailed pencil drawing. The image contains all the elements of a complex frac site set in a very harsh environment.  Guadalupe Pass can be seen at Midwinter flanking the location past sunset.  Fine Art Oil & Gas Photography By Robert D. Flaherty.
